Following advocacy from Drivers Union, the Port of Seattle is launching a pilot program for an expanded Virtual Waiting Area for TNC drivers qualified to enter the airport queue.
Under the pilot program, UBER and LYFT drivers who are qualified to join the Airport queue will be able to wait for airport trips at additional community locations, reducing congestion at the 160th lot.
- The Initial Test Area (in green on the map below) is to the east of the airport, including locations surrounding International Boulevard (Highway 99) in SeaTac. Some points of interest include Ethiopian Muslim Association of Seattle (EMAS), Star Coffee, Mecca Restaurant, Denny’s, the Pancake Chef, and the YMCA on S 188th St.
- The Larger Boundary Area (in brown on the map below) covers additional locations to the south, north and west of the airport, including locations near highway 509 in Burien. Some points of interest include Muslim American Youth Foundation (MAYF), Abubakr Masjid, and the IHOP at S 204th St & Hwy 99.
If you would like to provide feedback to the Port, you can complete the feedback form below to send your comments on the expanded waiting area directly to the Port of Seattle.
