Drivers Union is the voice for drivers in Washington’s ride-hail industry, the majority of whom are immigrants, refugees, and low-income workers. Drivers Union advocates for fairness, justice, and transparency while providing legal assistance, education and outreach, support with health care and benefits, community connections, and more.

Drivers Union is seeking an Intake Specialist who can provide a full range of support to drivers and the organization as a whole.

This position will require:  

• Welcoming drivers in person and via phone at various intervals each day  
• Understanding typical issues and crises that drivers experience, and directing drivers to other support channels as appropriate 
• Supporting drivers in filling out intake forms, preparing documents, and accessing information necessary for determining eligibility for benefits and services  
• Managing multiple simultaneous inquiries while maintaining calm and professional demeanor  
• Punctuality and presence during office hours   
• Working well within a team 
• Intermediate proficiency with, and/or ability to learn, multiple workplace applications (i.e. MS Office suite) and database software, and accuracy in data entry 
• Working with administrative and field teams to manage and maintain office and supplies, meet catering needs, support outreach campaigns, and provide other necessary support   
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities that may change at any time 

Particular consideration will be given to candidates with for-hire driving experience, fluency in language(s) other than English, and community leadership in the region’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities. Drivers Union offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes full family medical, dental and vision; generous matching 401(k) retirement contributions; holidays and paid time off. Salary compensation will range from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
