The City of Seattle and King County are working on reregulating the taxi industry (see summary here). With advocacy from our union, there are good things in the plan – including extending vehicle age limits to 15 years and establishing a minimum fare at the airport.

But improvements are needed.

When regulators mandate taxi drivers transition to new technology, we demand fair rules to prohibit excessive fees on taxi drivers and provide protection against unfair restrictions on our ability to work.
